Thursday 7th October 2021 – Arrival to Hobart

Welcome to Tasmania! Upon arrival make your own way to your accommodation in Hobart where you will find your welcome pack and enjoy the rest of the day exploring the city at your own pace.

Hobart offers a contrasting blend of heritage, scenery and culture, with world class activities and attractions nearby. With its captivating history, picturesque waterways, rugged mountains and gourmet experiences, the city has something for everyone.

Friday 8th October 2021 – Bruny Island Experience

After breakfast be met by your local guide and travel to the seaside town of Kettering. Bruny Island is a peaceful oasis where time seems to stand still. Only a short ferry ride from the coastal town of Kettering, but it is a world away. Enjoy a day of stunning scenery and indulge in quality local produce, such as freshly shucked oysters, honey and cheeses. Relax at an award-winning winery for a gourmet lunch. Located in the South Bruny National Park at the far end of Adventure Bay is the famous Fluted Cape walk. It offers spectacular views of roaring coastal swell and beautiful bays. The area abounds with local wildlife, including curious White Wallabies.

Saturday 9th October 2021 – Salamanca Markets & MONA

This morning, take a short stroll from your accommodation to the colorful Salamanca Markets and wander along more than 300 stalls offering the freshest Tasmanian produce. Indulge yourself with tastings and lookout for local souvenirs. At lunch time, re-meet your guide at the exit of the Salamanca markets and head over to Brooke Street pier where you board the MONA ROMA ferry towards the MONA museum. A 25-minute ride followed by 99 steps take you to the controversial museum all curated by Tasmania’s David Walsh. Explore the museum together with your guide before you will embark on a Moorilla Vineyard and wine tour to taste their cold climate wines produced on the oldest vineyard in Tasmania.
After the tour, there is more time to explore the museum before the ferry leaves at 5pm and takes you back to Brooke Street pier which is only a 5-minute stroll form your accommodation.

Sunday 10th October 2021 – Hobart – Shene Estate & Mount Field National Park

Stay your day with a visit at Shene Estate in Pontville and embark an informative distillery tour including an exclusive Cooperage demonstration. After lunch continue to the oldest NP in Tasmania, Mount Field and explore the Russell Falls as well as crane your neck towards some of the tallest trees in the world. Return to Hobart later this afternoon.

Monday 11th October 2021 – Hobart – Hamilton – Bothwell & St Helens

This morning travel to a working sheep and cropping farm where you will see a sheep shearing demonstration, working dogs rounding up the sheep, and learn about the extensive conservation program on the farm. Then it’s time to sit down for a freshly prepared lunch while you enjoy your surroundings. Followed by travelling into the scenic central highlands of Tasmania and visit the Australasian Golf Museum, which tells the story of how golf evolved from a crude game to now being a truly international game and Australia’s most popular participation sports. Later, visit the Callington Flour Mill (please note, the mill is closed permanently but can still be viewed from the outside). Continue the journey through Ross and visit the former Female factory convict site before we arrive at St Helens. Tonight, enjoy a fresh seafood dinner at a local restaurant. Spend the next 2 evenings in the fishing port of St Helens, located near Binalong Bay and the beautiful beaches of the Bay of Fires.

Tuesday 12th October 2021 – Bay of Fires, St Helens & Binalong Bay

This morning, stretch your legs on the legendary Bay of Fires Walk and enjoy spectacular views of the sandy white beaches, colorful orange granite boulders and turquoise waters. Next visit the Eureka Farm where delicious jams and relishes are produced. (Please note, due to not being in season, no fresh berries and no classes are on offer, but tastings are still available) growers of fruits and berries. The remainder of the day is at leisure for you to explore more on your own. You may wish to try your hand at fishing, shop for a favorite souvenir, visit the art galleries, or relax and just enjoy this amazing setting.

Wednesday 13th October 2021 – St Helens, Lavender & Launceston

Start the day with a visit to Pyengana Dairy where you’ll join in a cheesemaking discussion and enjoy a tasting of Australia’s heritage farmhouse cheese. If time permits, we visit the mighty St Columba Falls, the highest in Tasmania on a refreshing 30-minute return walk. Next, visit Bridestowe Lavender Estate for a tour and a lunch of local produce (please note, no Lavender fields are visible as they have been harvested – next bloom is in December, however, the farm is open to visit and welcomes guests in their shop and for a walk around. Then travel to Josef Chromy wines. (Please note: Jansz is only operating from Thursday to Sunday these days) and enjoy a single flight wine tasting with their best wines on offer. Your guide then drops you off at your accommodation in Launceston by 4 pm where the guided tour ends.

Thursday 14th October 2021 – Launceston

Tour concludes today, enjoy the day to yourself in Launceston. Included is a shared transfer to the airport.
Launceston is Tasmania’s second major city and a vibrant hub for food and wine, culture and nature. In fact, the whole region is packed with city and country charm, gorgeous old towns, excellent food and wine and beautiful scenic highlights.  One of Australia’s oldest cities, Launceston has one of the best-preserved early cityscapes in Australia with its elegant Colonial and Victorian architecture and century-old parks.
